Promotion conditions

These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter: General Terms and Conditions for Consumer Sweepstakes and Competitions) apply to consumer sweepstakes and competitions organized by MegaStores The Hague.

• Participants under 18 years of age declare to have obtained permission from (a) parent(s) to participate in the giveaway and/or contest.
• The participant is obliged to provide correct, current and complete information when participating in the giveaway and/or contest. MegaStores The Hague may request a winner to provide proof of his/her identity and a valid registration at the participant’s home or residence address before the prize is awarded.

• Winners may be notified by telephone, email or mail of the prize won at the email address, correspondence address or telephone number provided by the participant.

• No correspondence can be entered into regarding the results and award of the prize.

• Participation is excluded for persons not residing in the Netherlands.

• Participation is excluded for store personnel and entrepreneurs stores at MegaStores The Hague.

• The prize is personal and is in the name of the winner. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or payable in cash or for other products or services. Upon refusal or non-acceptance of the prize or the conditions attached to the giveaway and/or contest, the prize will not be awarded. In that case, MegaStores The Hague is entitled to draw another winner.

• The prize will be awarded in the condition in which it is in. MegaStores The Hague is not responsible for any visible or hidden defects to the prize nor for any damage upon delivery (shipment) of the prize.

• Handling of the delivery of the prize is done by MegaStores The Hague or another designated party. In the latter case, MegaStores The Hague is not responsible for the delivery of the prize. In that case, the date of delivery of the prize will be determined in consultation with the supplier of the prize.

• MegaStores The Hague is not responsible for any defects of postal or shipping companies (for example, delay, strike, damage or loss) in the delivery of the prize. In the event that the winner, a co-occupant/occupant or local resident cannot receive a registered prize upon delivery, the winner will pick up the prize at MegaStores The Hague at a later time. MegaStores The Hague cannot be held liable if the prize is not collected by the winner or is received by an unauthorized person.

• The participant gives permission for the processing of personal data in connection with participation in the contest. MegaStores The Hague may include the personal data in its database, which will be treated confidentially.

• The personal data may be used to carry out the contest and the awarding of the prize. In that context MegaStores The Hague is entitled after digital/written consent to provide personal data to third parties involved in the relevant giveaway and/or contest.

• Within a few weeks, the prize won will be sent to the winner by mail, or when the nature of the prize makes it necessary, will be given to the winner in another way (for example, personally).

• Use of the prize made available is at the expense and risk of the winner. MegaStores The Hague cannot be held liable for the use of the prize by the winner.

• MegaStores The Hague is in no way liable for any damages resulting from participation in the contest nor for any technical malfunctions, defects or delays related to participation in the contest or the designation of the winner.

• MegaStores The Hague is in no way liable for possible problems or defects arising from the use of the website and/or downloading of any components relating to the contest.

• MegaStores The Hague is entitled to disqualify participants and/or exclude them from participation if it believes that participants do not act in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions of the giveaway and/or contest or if participants otherwise gain access to the giveaway and/or contest fraudulently or influence the outcome of the giveaway and/or contest unfairly. In the case of online voting and ‘liking’ measures on the website of MegaStores The Hague and in social media channels of MegaStores The Hague, MegaStores The Hague reserves the right at all times to verify the authenticity and validity of profiles of likes and votes cast. If this verification leads to disqualification of the participant, the participant will be notified of this in writing or by email. MegaStores The Hague is not obligated to explain or disclose the verification process.

• MegaStores The Hague is entitled at any time and at its own discretion and without prior notice to change or modify these General Terms and Conditions of the giveaway and/or contest during the term of the giveaway and/or contest, or without giving reasons to discontinue the giveaway and/or contest due to its motivating reasons, without MegaStores The Hague being liable in any way to compensate the participant for damages. Change or modification of the giveaway and/or contest, will be publicly announced by MegaStores The Hague on its website in an appropriate manner.

• Should one or more provisions of the General Terms and Conditions for the giveaway and/or contest be void or invalid, this will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of the General Terms and Conditions for the giveaway and/or contest.
